Service Description
Pilot Youth Program Agenda: Breath of Calm (10 minutes): Youth will begin their journey with a guided meditation and breathing exercise. Learn techniques to center your mind, reduce stress, and increase focus. This segment sets the tone for the entire session, helping them leave behind the day's worries and prepare for the practice ahead. Stretch and Strengthen (30 minutes): Students will engage in a series of gentle yoga poses tailored for all skill levels. A certified and registered instructor will guide youth through stretches and postures that promote flexibility, improve posture, and build core strength. This segment emphasizes proper alignment and body awareness, encouraging a mindful approach to movement. Mindful Exploration (20 minutes): Youth will be able to dive into a rotating selection of mindfulness activities designed to stimulate creativity and inner reflection. Activities may include: Learning how to play meditational instruments to experience their soothing sounds; Coloring intricate mandalas to promote focus and artistic expression; Journaling to encourage self-discovery and emotional processing. Restful Reflection (10 minutes): Each session will conclude with a guided final relaxation. This may include techniques such as body scan meditation or Yoga Nidra, allowing youth to integrate the benefits of their practice and prepare for a peaceful transition back into their evening routine. Mindful Cleanup (5 minutes): Participate in a brief, mindful cleanup of the space. This activity fosters responsibility, community spirit, and helps transition students back to their regular activities while maintaining the calm cultivated during the session. This pilot after-school mindful program offers an affordable holistic approach to youth wellness, combining physical activity with mindfulness practices. The goal is to provide students with techniques that can help them feel more refreshed, centered, and equipped to manage everyday stress. *Transportation is not included. *Closed on Thanksgiving.
