Mental Health Awareness

When was the last time you asked yourself this question?

โžก๏ธ What am I doing today to help myself feel better, whole and complete?


Because in the end, itโ€™s up to us to truly feel better ๐Ÿ’ฏ. Sometimes it takes us a little while to relearn that lesson, but itโ€™s true.


Hereโ€™s some truths:

๐Ÿ‘‰ We all have been through challenges in life.

๐Ÿ‘‰ We have all stayed up at night worrying about something.

๐Ÿ‘‰ We have all felt nervous, anxious or maybe even a little depressed at one moment or another.

๐Ÿ‘‰ We have all had that thought โ€œno one will understand.โ€

๐Ÿ‘‰ And yes, a lot of us have experienced trauma, including myself.


โžก๏ธ So, what can you do today to help yourself feel better, whole and complete?


If you canโ€™t think of any, here are some ideas that are proven to work:


๐Ÿ‘‰Try talking about it. If youโ€™re not comfortable talking about it then journaling is a great substitute.โœ๏ธ

๐Ÿ‘‰Be active. Exercise, go for a walk, do yoga. Physical activity can help decrease depression and anxiety and improve mood. I know it helps me! ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ

๐Ÿ‘‰Drink water not alcohol. Did you know that water cushions the brain, spinal cord, and other sensitive tissues? It also regulates body temperature, flushes body waste and helps maintain healthy blood pressure increasing energy levels. ๐Ÿ’ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰Eat healthy foods! Everyone has their own food sensitivities, allergies or preferences, but create a list of foods you like that give you energy and helps you feel good. Less refined sugar! Find a support group, join a program, and create your shopping list BEFORE you go to the grocery store. It will ensure you wonโ€™t forget or come home with Oreos instead of apples ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ‘‰Surround yourself with good people. Let others support you on your journey and allow yourself to support others. We are all here to empower each other. Positivity, kindness and empowerment is a two way street! โœจ

๐Ÿ‘‰Set achievable goals. Marathons are not completed in seconds. Pace yourself and celebrate your accomplishments ๐ŸŽ‰


AND VALUE YOURSELF.


THERE IS NO ONE BETTER THAN YOU. You are unique. Be kind to yourself and live being the best you!
